Deep Cleaning vs Regular Cleaning in Vancouver

3 min read

Regular cleaning maintains a home that is already in a manageable condition. Deep cleaning allows more attention for accumulated buildup and agreed detail work. The right choice depends on the condition of your kitchen, bathrooms and other surfaces, plus what you want completed during the visit. A first appointment is not automatically a deep clean, but a home needing catch-up work should be planned that way.

At Cleaning Fairy Vancouver, we start with your priorities and the actual condition of the home. This helps avoid booking a maintenance visit for a job that needs a more detailed reset.

The service name alone does not tell you whether every cupboard, wall, window or appliance is included. A clear scope does. Tell us exactly what needs attention and ask which tasks can fit the proposed labour allowance.

When regular cleaning makes sense

Choose maintenance cleaning when bathrooms and the kitchen are cleaned regularly, floors are accessible and your main goal is keeping everyday dust and mess under control. Weekly or bi-weekly visits can suit households that want help with the same core tasks each time.

For example, if your home is maintained but your schedule has become busier, a regular visit can focus on the kitchen, bathrooms and floors. One oven request does not necessarily mean the whole home needs a deep clean; it does mean that oven time must be included in the plan.

Regular cleaning service:

When to plan a deep clean

Consider a deep clean if several areas need substantial catch-up work, cleaning has been postponed for a while, or the usual visit cannot address your priorities thoroughly. Send photos of the places that concern you: shower corners, kitchen grease, edges, trim and appliance interiors.

A useful deep-clean request names the result you need. “Please prioritise the shower, cabinet fronts and accessible baseboards” is easier to plan than “make everything spotless.” It also gives you a basis for deciding what comes first if the job needs more time than expected.

Renovation dust calls for a separate discussion. If sanding, drilling or other trades are still working, book the appropriate post-renovation service rather than treating the work as an ordinary maintenance visit.

Deep cleaning service:

Decide the priorities before comparing prices

List your must-do tasks, optional tasks and any surfaces with special care instructions. Mention pets, clutter, recent renovations and how long it has been since a thorough clean. A small home with extensive kitchen buildup may require more work than a larger home that is consistently maintained.

Cleaning Fairy Vancouver charges by labour time, with a four labour-hour minimum. A single one-time visit is CAD $60 per labour-hour; the rate is $49 when at least one additional cleaning of any type is booked. GST is extra. These rates do not replace an assessment of the work needed.

Common questions

Do I need a deep clean before recurring service?

It depends on the starting condition. Share photos and your expectations so the first visit can establish a realistic maintenance baseline.

Does deep cleaning include every appliance interior?

Confirm each appliance before booking. Oven cleaning uses labour time without a separate oven fee, but the team still needs time allocated for it.

Can I choose only a few deep-clean priorities?

Yes, discuss a targeted scope. Be clear about the areas to prioritise and what can wait, so the estimate reflects the work you actually want.
